Late afternoon, we six met at the water's edge. Caid and Mati wrote a memorial in the sand. We all dropped roses into the ebbing tide. All are now part of the Pacific.
Then we all went for gelati.

I met Swift only once, we had dinner with the family in Italy. Mostly, I was taken with his positivism and his plans for the future. He knew he was ill, but he had photo-taking plans, and school visitation plans, and travel plans. Plans to visit people he hadn't seen for a while...I was impressed, even envious that his life was so full he couldn't bear to let it go. This is a true testimony to a life well-lived, well-loved. I'm pleased to have met him and shared an evening.
